It is made of 100% cotton. The cotton in this quilt is very old. There is madder brown, cinnamon pink, and poison green. Lots of antique calicos and shirting.
The quilt has been laundered by hand in gentle detergent that is dye-free and perfume-free and dried in the fresh country air and sunshine.
It is lightweight, and other than 3 squares, is in perfect condition (one patch has 2 thinning squares ,and there is another patch with a missing square.
Tons of tiny, delicate hand stitches throughout.
This is a unique and rare quilt that has stood the test of time.
This one belongs in a collector’s home.

It has been created from a distrsssed vintage quilt.
Each hat has been sewn together, has a bow attached to the back (hot glue- too many layers to hand sew through) and is the perfect piece of cottage home decor for this Halloween -or anytime of the year if you’re feeling the witchy vibes.
Each hat measures approximately 13” tall, the brim has a 16” diameter.
The interior measurement is approximately 8-9” across.
The thicker quilts make better wearable hats, but all would look adorable!

The “stem” is a branch which has been hot glued to the top.

This one-of-a-kind pillow cover was made from an antique Ceresota Milling Co flour sack.
The Ceresota Milling Co. was based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
However, you can still see “ghost signs” in some places in Pennsylvania (where the sack was found).
This is a very unique piece with authentic patchwork. The side featuring the boy was patched first, then printed.
A beautiful and unique piece and a preservation of American agricultural history.

It features the most stunning typography. This is a genuine antique, not a printed reproduction.
I have layered it with unbleached muslin and quilted it with organic cotton batting.

This one-of-a-kind pillow cover was made from an antique Colonial Salt sack.
Amazing indigo typography that reads: “ Evaporated Colonial Coars Medium Salt” on the front. The back reads: The Colonial Salt Co., Akron, Ohio. Net Weight 100 lbs.
I have pieced the back together with a welt seam using pieces of the original sack in order to keep the entire piece authentic.
The front and the back have been quilted (by me) with soft organic cotton batting and unbleached muslin inside.

Cut from antique linen grain sacks, this piece carries the texture and character of its past use. The interior and pockets are fully lined in antique blue and white ticking, adding durability and a quiet, considered contrast.

The entire jacket has been bound with a soft salmon and rust batik print.

Please be aware that this quilt is very old- there are some spot with fraying and missing patches as well as some discoloring. I believe this adds to the charm and authenticity of the piece.
A touch of western flair makes this piece perfect for boots and jeans, but it could also be worn with a skirt or dress.
The inside is lined with new batik fabric in a coordinating rust color.
There are also two interior pockets.

The bottom is heavy waxed canvas to protect the fabric on the bag.
The handles are sturdy leather and are double riveted to the bag.

I made this bag from an authentic antique Bemis grainsack.
The interior is also made from antique ticking and features a long, divided pocket (3 pockets total)
The bottom is waxed canvas to protect the cloth.
It has sturdy leather straps riveted to the bag and a single brass snap closure.
This is sturdy and beautiful piece of American history, now renewed to continue its life as a utility textile (but more beautiful)
