This is an authentic vintage, handmade quilt.
It is made of 100% cotton, consisting mostly of 1930s feed sack cotton.
It measures 77” x 85”
I have verbal provenance (no written documentation) that it was made circa 1930s in Nebraska by Mertishia Alice Barnes.
It was passed to her daughter, Mabel Dallas Rush, and eventually to her granddaughter, Reta Schwisow Albeti.
Upon Reta’s death, the quilts were gifted by the family to the First United Methodist Church of Olympia (Washington)
Her entire collection was donated to this church.
Although I do not have documentation for this quilt, I have evidence that they were made by the same hand, so I am making an educated assumption about this quilt’s origin.
