Vintage Brickwork Quilt with Documentation

$448.00

This is an authentic vintage, handmade quilt.

It is made of 100% cotton.

The quilt will come with documentation from The Quilt Heritage of Washington State.

The quilt top was created in 1927 by Wilhelmina Schwisow of Daykin, Nebraska (although she was born in Germany in 1870).

The quilt was finished by the Country Club Quilters (Daykin, Nebraska) in 1940.

It has been hand-pieced and hand-quilted at 6 spi.

A gorgeous piece in mostly indigos and a peach sashing.

Lightweight and in good shape.

Flaws include a tear near the border and 2 areas of spots (see photos).

It measures 64” x 77”

The quilt has been in the family for 3 generations until the passing of Wilhelmina’s grandson’s wife, Reta Schwisow.

At that time, her entire collection was donated to her church, the First United Methodist Church of Olympia, Washington.
