There is a refinement found in what was once ordinary—
in cloth made for the table, now brought into daily wear.
This piece was cut from a vintage linen tablecloth,
woven with traditional Pennsylvania Dutch folk motifs—
symbols carried through generations, rooted in German heritage and rural life.
The cloth has been carefully reworked into a shorter, structured coat,
allowing the pattern to remain central and uninterrupted.
Finished with french seams throughout,
a tailored welt detail,
and a single interior pocket sewn in by hand.
Unlined, so the linen moves naturally and continues to soften with time.
No two pieces like this will exist again.
Part of an ongoing body of work exploring domestic textiles,
and their place in a more considered way of dressing.
